Hello, I have been into origami art for quite sometime now and I've created around 30 models that include a variety of shapes such as that of scorpions, dinosaurs, Statue of Liberty, grullas and my favourite is a stellated icosahedron. I did not have any proper guidance regarding origami. I am not a professional origami artist but I had a keen interest in this artwork, hence my dedication and passion made me research about this topic and I started educating myself through video tutorials and origami websites. I have a workspace in my house where I work on bringing my imagination to life.

Origami has turned into something more than just my passion and I'm really looking forward to making this into a profession. I really don't know how to promote and exhibit my works to the creative world; I am looking to showcase my work in an exhibition, but I'm skeptical as to if this is the right move. I would be highly indebted if anyone could simplify this confusion for me.

Hi OliviaOrigami, I can totally relate with your story, but I haven't reached the level that you've managed to achieve. I am just a beginner and origami video tutorials are my sole source of learning. Well although I can't help you with the best path to exhibit your art, I wish you all the very best. Do post some of your pictures in this forum. Will help motivate us to probably follow your success story.

Oh, it's really good to hear that more and more people are indulging in this creative art. OliviaOrigami, I would suggest that rather than advertising your work through an exhibition, you should upload videos of your origami art, you know, like a "How to do" learning video or something. With the way Youtube videos are going viral today, I guess there's no better way to reach out to people and showcase your passion. And as you have reached this phase through tutorials, so it is your duty to educate others through this medium as well. Thanks and Cheers.

I never understood these paper arts, although they have always amused me and that's the reason I'm a part of this group. Can't help you OliviaOrigami with your query, but your post has surely enticed me to see your work in person.

Hi sassyjoey, that was really kind of you, thank you for your advice and I guess socializing my art is indeed a good way to showcase my passion. However, I am interested in exhibiting my work as well as that gives me the opportunity to converse with people on a one-to-one basis and get their feedback in person.

Hello KhloeCarter, as you are a beginner I would suggest you to stick to the basics like learning about how to choose the right paper, what are the different folding methods, how to build an origami base, etc. You can refer to this link as well - https://www.origami-resource-center.com/origami-basics.html. Let me know if it helps.

I did find some exhibitions for you. Check this link - https://tucsonbotanical.org/exhibit/origami-garden-2/. I couldn't figure out much as frankly speaking, I did not really take the efforts to go through the entire article, but take a look as I think it does suggest an Origami exhibition right at the end of the article.

Hi sassyjoey, the link that you have shared are from the exhibition which is organized by origami artists to showcase their work and the exhibition doesn't allow any outsiders work to be showcased. Please don't mislead OliviaOrigami as she is trying to find some real promoters and exhibitions for her artwork.

Hello OliviaOrigami, seems like you are really interested in origami. I am an origami artist, and I have organized a couple of exhibitions as well. I would like to tell you that showcasing your art in an exhibition is not as simple as you might think. There are many guidelines one has to follow before approaching for an exhibition. As of now, I would suggest that you should develop your art further to a professional level and then approach any exhibitors. Uploading the video tutorials of your art is also an efficient and productive way to showcase your art. Anyways, best wishes from my side, keep developing your skills.

Well jasonlian, I clearly mentioned that I am not sure about it, so its not my fault if the link was not the right one. I just gave it a shot and forwarded a link that I thought might be helpful.

Thank you ryangabriel. I guess you are right, I should dedicate my time towards molding my art and sharpening my skills rather than looking for publicity at the moment. Thank you so much for your advice.
