Hi! I'm Shibura and I'm pretty new to Origami, but I'm very happy to be a member of this forum. I first found out about origami fairly early, when I was a kid, but never really felt like this was something, that could interest me. I believe many people have been through this. It's extremely hard to determine whether you will like something or not when you are young, and that was the case for me as well. But, now that I am older and started looking for some interesting hobbies to pick up, I thought - why not Origami? It took me a while to get into it, well I only have around 3 months experience, but after months of experimenting and constant failures I actually grew a liking to origami and I thought it's time to broaden my horizons a little bit and join a community, that shares a similar kind of pasion for origami like I do. And now I'm sure, that I have definitely found a good place.

Apart from origami, I also reguarly frequent gym, try to eat relatively healthy, but I can't say that I'm sometimes eating way too much, especially when watching my favorite TV show or Anime, but well, you probably all know that pretty well - eating and watching, it just simply comes along :D But anyway, I'm trying to keep myself in shape, I watch a lot and I don't read that much, but I love to open a book from time to time as well, just I guess I simply need a little bit more time for that, as I hate starting a book and not having the time to read it on daily basis, kind of throws me out of a rhytm, and unfortunately I don't have too much time to spend on reading lately.

Okay, not sure what else I could write here - I hope we will all get to know each other better as the time goes and we dicuss different stuff related to origami all other things here on the forums!

Welcome to forums! Based on your name (Japanese), seems like you are into Japanese culture as well, just like Flying Deidara, that have made an introduction earlier. Nice to meet you and I hope we will hold a lot of relevant discussions here on the forum and we all will have a good time!

Welcome Shibura! Don't worry about the fact, that you are new - many members here are total beginners when it comes to origami, and even those with a couple years of experience still have tons to learn. Such is the way of origami, basically impossible to master as everyone has a different vision and a different approach. But don't worry and keep trying, if you encounter any problems make sure to let us know and we will do our best to help you!

Welcome! As you are a beginner, I would recommend to focus on easy things, best something, that you can apply in practice. For example Washi tapes, that I have made a thread about earlier. It's probably the best solution to soldify your attachement to origami and creating something as not only it's pretty easy to do, but you can also use it to decorate basically anything you want. For me as well as many other people, it was the breaking point at the beginning. Just look for something, that you thought you will either really love (and is relatively simple to create) as well as something, that you are sure you will be able to put in practice. For example paper butterflies or flowers in a rainbow color are great for all kind of decorations - at least I love them, but then again not everyone likes to decorate their belongings with origami stuff, although I have found that most people I know that are interested in origami, including me, really love to do that. Most just makes exciting stuff and puts them on the shelves - it's a great decoration as well, although my taste here is a little bit more sophisticated and I always tend to focus on a proper coloring and ways to apply it to make my room or stuff more beautiful.

But anyway, that's me. Just in my opinion you should keep creating stuff, that you actually need, otherwise you may lose motivation or even get bored with, especially as most of your creations will be far from perfect at the beginning. That's just a suggestion though, welcome again!

Thanks for warm welcome everyone! Especially you Geneva11 - thanks for those kind words and your suggestions. Your right, flowers aren't really my thing, but I love to decorate in general. Not sure if in the same manner as you, but I saw your Washi tapes thread and I'm sure that I will be able to make some, they seem pretty easy indeed, but to get them right, you actually need to spend some time on those. We will see how it goes. I'm happy to be here!
