I'm a beginner as far as origami is concerned and I recently bought some kraft papers online to make some folds. I realized that the type of kraft paper I got was totally different from the ones I have seen and being used by other folders. After I tried some folds with it, I realized that it doesn't fold the best plus it has some flaws too. I don't know if you could be of help in getting the right kraft papers.
Thanks!!!
I've had a lot more experience with kraft papers and it's been a favorable one I guess. Although, I ordered some white kraft papers not quite long and making folds out of it came out terrible. So, I'll suggest you stick with smaller better quality stuff.
There are vast varieties of Kraft papers that offer a wide range of qualities such as thickness, texture and lots more. It can be pleasurable to fold when you're working around very thin papers which are kinda suitable for insects (something around 30gsm). I've got crazy experience though, but since I stumbled upon double MC paper my folds have been great. The interesting thing about this type of kraft paper is that, it's nearly impossible to rip even when it's being folded back and forth severally even along the crease.
I got mine from Terry's store. It comes out thinner than the mostly used kraft papers and it holds creases firmly. It is perfect for the ryujin but may be too thin for the black forest cuckoo clock.
I must confess, I'm getting my folds right with Nicholas' paper at the moment. I'm trying to fold the Kamiya's Ancient Dragon and I'll get it uploaded as soon as am done. Cheers!
I wanna try terry's kraft, Origamistjody. Can you tell me how well it folds and is it perfect for danboard? I've used up my papers and I've got brown and copy paper left. Tell how to look-up Terry's store online.
origami-shop.com. It promises to be perfect for dabnboard.
