I've always thought this is cheating.

mark56, why would special origami glue exist then?

Of course, you can use glue or starch if you want to keep your models from wearing out. I use glue for exhibition models.

AnneLore, I don't know which special origami glue you mean exactly, but it should be something like plain PVA.

To glue or not to glue? Actually it all depends on how "pure" you feel your paper folding to be. It makes sense to use glue for the models that you want to last, because everything from humidity to heat may affect the model. I've heard lots of origami experts saying you can't glue or cut your model, but if you are doing origami for yourself, I am sure you can do whatever you want.

tttiger, it all depends on what effect you'd like to achieve. PVA, starch, MC or glue stick.

Used glue for some of my works. Not a fan of it, things may get pretty messy with liquid glue.

hm29405, mhm, liquid glue on very thin paper may become a disaster. I would say, the thicker the paper, the more liquid can glue be.

mark56, Why should using glue be called cheating, when wetfolding is ok? It changes the structure of paper even more dramatically. Nothing more than one of the techniques. Also it helps preserve the works.

Curious about using starch! Can't find methyl cellulose, but I've heard that starch can be used just as well.
