Has anyone here tried to make origami paper? I've come across an article about making your own origami paper and the process seemed complicated to me, plus you are going to need spceial tubs and press for that. Just curious if anyone has some experience in that. Also I wonder if such kind of paper is still thin enough for folding and is the whole thing worth trying?
I watched a tutorial on making paper, but that wasn't origami paper. The process IS time-consuming, but as far as I remember, they didn't use anything super professional or anything you can't buy at a hardware store.
Can it be made from scrap paper or do I have to use some special kind of paper for that?
Scrap paper will do, I guess
Waste of time. It will be too thick
I tried. You're right, the paper is a little bit too thick for folding and lacks elasticity (cracks on the edges). I made a duck of it. I'll try ti find a photo for you.
loveorigami23, wow, cool! It would be great to see the photo!
I only had to make mould and deckle. Kitchen blender, a container you'll use as a tub, a sponge and a wood board - you are very much likely to have all these things at home anyway.
But is there a way to make paper thinner in some way?
Sounds like a nice way to recycle paper!
