Making you own printed origami paper

I was searching for some unusual origami prints and I was having difficulty finding the type i wanted so I dug around in my cache of fabrics and used my color copier to print my own paper. Copy paper is about the right for folding and I can get 8" squares out of each sheet or smaller. Old wallpaper sample books are another good source. The title should say "making your own printed origami paper". Sheesh!! Another cool thing is to print on both sides of the paper with differant designs. Anyone else do this?

What a great idea. It opens up a whole new level of creativeness. I agree wallpaper sample books are a good source. Can't use the wallpaper itself, but can copy the pattern and printing a different patter on each side of the paper we're making sounds interesting. Thanks for these ideas.

I have used wallpaper sample books and realized that wallpaper is great for making boxes with. You are only limited by your imagination.

So very true. Will have to try the wallpaper for boxes too. I found that the vinyl coated wallpaper does not hold a fold very well,
