Wilmajean, i have spoken to the library and I volunteer at a food pantry 2 days a week. Sometimes if the clients are interested I give what I'm working on to them. Giving away some origami for Christmas also. Sharing my pics on this site has also been fun but wish there was more interaction. Working on a flock of sheep at the moment. Never know what will interest me next. Happy holiday!
Talking about craft supplies, I also have lots of supplies which I have used on different projects but since I learned about Origami many years I have been doing it on and off. I have just lately gotten back into it and find it so relaxing and keeps my mind busy. Origami only requires paper, scissor and a glue stick plus time to watch the tutorials. Living on a fixed income doesn't allow the funds to buy a lot of extras. I find that I do them over and over until I get it right then make multiples of the same thing until I go on to another one. There is always something new to learn.
Khatldt4, I agree. It's also pretty portable. I always have paper and I photocopy written instructions so I don't have to carry around a whole book. I dog sit with some of the neighbors dogs so I take origami and the pups and I sit out in the backyard and soak up the sun. I folded Roman Dias's german shepherd this Christmas for the neighbor who has one. It turned out really nice and they went crazy because it really looks like their dog. Nice to do something you love and give it away.
Hello Everyone! I tried origami when I was a child. I tried origami when I was a teenager. I tried origami when I was a young adult. Now I am a "seasoned" person. I would like to do more than try, I want to create something that looks like what I am going for! This could be the place! Thank you for the site!
Once you get started it gets very addictive. yes, this is a great site. I usually go down the list and pick what I want to try and save the video. I tried the little dresses and watched the video so much I memorized it and can do them with no tutorial. I started with one , now I have 36..lol. I'm putting them on my handmade greeting cards. It is so amazing what can be folded ! I also like doing the little flowers amongst all the other things. I hope you do keep trying and reach your goal. I find it very relaxing. Welcome.
How can I share pictures of what I've done?
I've been folding origami off and on for many years. Some time ago I discovered the wonderful boxes by Tomoko Fuse. Terrific! Origami that was beautiful AND functional! My friends adored it and one lady was delighted to keep it (as well as the gift inside it). She stated the box was very durable and has lasted many years.
I love making boxes and am always looking for new tutorials. I will have to search Tomoko Fuse . Thanks
Thank you for having me. This is the first time this kind of craft. As you are doing the origamis. Can you also use construction paper. Thank you. You come up with very nice creations.

Nice to have you here!
I'm totally new to the whole forum idea, but I have been reading your posts and enjoying your conversations without being involved. Found out that this is called "Lurking". I thought it would be better manners to register and join in! Hello everyone 👋 can't wait to meet y'all!
Hi my fellow folders....
I have belonged to this group for awhile now and I have enjoyed it so much. I look forward to the daily digest and the list of things to try. I've tried a lot of them and some were great and some were not so great but I keep on trying. One of the things I see in today's digest is the cell phone stand. I tried it and on to some others while I was on you tube. I love this little one and have made so many I can do it by memory now. I also use it to put a notepad and pen on which is really handy. I use them to sit up pictures and whatever else I can try. I like it also because it can be folded flat and put in a pocket. There are so many amazing things to make with origami and I can get stuck on you tube for hours. I will celebrate my 78th birthday this year and stay at home a lot and find this good therapy. Thank you for the encouragement .
