Nice thread! To be honest, there were many arts that have given me a lot of trouble over the years, but as for my personal top 5, I will definitely have to put Icarus by Hojyo Takashi here - this one literally made me eyes water, but in the end it's extremely beautiful and brings you tons of satisfaction. Obviously the mentioned above Violonist deserves a spot in my top 5 as well. I definitely need to give it a go again, and now that you have made this topic and reminded me of it, I will definitely have to do it sooner than later :) Ryujin 3.5 by Satoshi Kamiya - this is one of the most complex origamis I have ever seen. Never got it right and from what I know, many non-professional origami makers have struggled with it a lot. Similiarly to Leonard, I wish I will be able to make one properly in the future. As for now, I am still practiing with many other projects and I will probably give it a go in the next few months to see how much I have improved since the last time I tried to complete it (I was basically 3/4 way done).

Another one would be Chi-Wing Fighter by Wayne Ko - definitely a very hard one, that has made sweat a lot. Basically completing it isn't that hard, but let's be honest - in the book it looks absolutely stunning, right? And in order to get one looking just like in the book, you need to be really careful and accurate, and this is what was the hardest part for me. Last one would be Sheep by Master Kawasaki - it's entirely different than most of the origamis I have done so far. Not only it looks different, but all the step you have to follow are like a total opposite of what you were doing so far. This one got me good, but eventually made it work (with a lot of tries!).

Nice, I remember my first Washi tapes pretty well as well - they have always brought me a lot of fun, creating them was just so fulfilling, and well the decorating was even better. I remember when I made a bunch of 10-15 Washi tapes and had so many ideas popping my mind, that I literally had no idea on where to apply them at all haha. I was so confused it basically took me few hours before I was able to make any permanent decisions. I was literally applying one here, then swapping it with the other and then applying it to something else. Couldn't decide on the color and design, even though they all looked great I just wanted it to look the best. Realized that it's best to take a pretty much random approach and just apply them by drawing one washi tape from a big box that I have put them all into. If I drew something that color-wise and design-wise doesn't fit at all, then I would draw the next one, but most of them actually fit right of the bat and it stayed like this up to this day. I'm not creating any nowadays though, seems like it's too easy for me now and well, I have no other ideas on how to apply them anyway. By the way Leonard, I'm sure you have already thought of it, but you can try decorate mason jars with them, make some photo frames (this is so far my favorite), make some kind of ribbons (I actually made bunch of them and just gave them to my family on Easter, they were really happy and I believe they all still have them somewhere), use them for your wall shelf, and well, for those a little bit more creative - I saw people doing car tracks for kids.

This is actually tons of work, but can be very rewarding, even if you don't have children yourself you can always give it somebody else or donate them to charity, I'm sure there are people that would appreciate it. It shouldnt' be hard, but as I said - lots of work. I may try this myself as well. Alternatively you can also decorate a corkbord, make an iPhone case, cover some boxes (for example the one you keep your origami stuff). I have actually covered my boxes for origami and washi tapes stuff, looks really great :) Can't think of any of else to be honest. Hope I was of help for you, and of course - great job on creating your first Washi tapes Geneva11!

I'm not a big anime fan to be honest and I was never a fan of creating characters in the fist place, but I did give it a shot. Have created a few, but never had the very desire to create them, so only tried it out of curiosity. I have manged to make a simple Wolverine from X-men and Storm from X-Men as well. They are from perfect, well, if not for the fact that I know what I created, I'm not sure if I would even be able to recognize them as Logan and Storm. But that's how it works, only a handful of people can create origamis so detailed, that it looks like on the screen. Just enjoy your work and nice introduction, definitely seems liek you a person who thinks everything through and always do their best, which is also probably the reason for why you tend to be not satisfied with your work so much. Just keep it easy, I even kept some of my origamis that were half-done in a box in my garage :D
