JoshuaSamuel, I would suggest you watch some tutorials on origami springs. I can understand your situation and I know how frustrating it gets when you're not able to mold your imagination into reality. I have also gone through a struggle with the design of origami springs, but guess what, finally, I got it right. I totally relied on YouTube tutorials for the correct procedures and you too should do that. You can subscribe to this channel "Jo Nakashima - Origami Tutorials" (I'm surprised that you haven't come across this channel yet, considering that you learn only through online channels). His teachings have really helped me improve my skills in this art.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aul0SzPVsls This is the link for making origami springs from his channel; it explains the step by step procedure of creating an alluring origami spring. It also mentions the common mistakes we all tend to make while creating this design and the ways through which we can avoid such silly blunders. Go through the link and give it a try again. Don't lose your hope, keep trying and hopefully, you will succeed eventually like I did.
